Its not that i think ive got 450, but i seriously smoked a volvo v70r awd recently. And i know that volvo got a bit over 300hp, so its a hard guess..
Mine is on stock compression and has 380cc injectors. Got 650cc laying so in a few days i will pull the intake and clean/paint stuff and get them mounted.

The thing is 300 bhp isn't a lot when you have to put it too all 4 wheels

that geeza can get more ponies as he is a left hooker manifold design is better and better down pipe route = more power per psi as we are restricted due to bloody steering column
think i need to build another 1.8 turbo as they are well fun well light and good on the go go juice but pennies are rather tight in the fowler household ATM

KVASI you car goes well but stock CR will take a 1.5 bar then they may be issues depending how yours has been built.
I have seen 1.6bar on my old 2.7 turbo and that was mental far too much power.
I am now running a 2.5 turbo with about 1.2bar which is good for 350-380bhp butstill requires a little mapping to get it spot on up top

Yeah but what I'm saying is to make a 4wd car quick you need a lot of hp to put in down to all 4 wheels
But ain't the drive chain on a ix known to be not that strong

Heard both on ixes, some say the front cant handle anything and some dragrace them with tons of boost and they dont break them.. I always go easy in 1. gear just to be sure and relying on own experience rather that myths on internet.
My last car vas a diesel Hilux that i put a supercharger on and everyone said it would "explode" in the first 10 minutes, but it didnt...

Seen several dynopapers on 2,5 M20 that has 420 - 450hp on them at around 1,2-1,3 bar.
Forged rockers and z45 cams, 7000rpm and 8.8 compression on them all.
And a friend of mine has dynoed 640hp on 9.4 compression on a skyline at 8000 rpm, so well built is more important than most.

A skyline is a whole different kettle of fish as there designed to be turboed as the m20 isnt
So where the skyline pistons are forged the m20 are just normal cast ali

thats not nessasarly true its all in the tuneing
on a turbo engine that is designed to be turboed can handle alot of power example the skyline they can take up to 800bhp on a standard engine

on a standard bmw m20 yes that maybe the case because there not designed to take the stresses that a forced inducted engine needs to cope with

Yeah, tune is everyting. I know several guys that has dynoed more than 1000hp on engines that didnt have boost from factory, u just have to change out most of the internals..

This is why I'm looking in to the LPG route, I've seen a few M20 turbo's running on it now

lpg? E85 is the way to go..

lpg is about the best less for det unless we use meth

Hmm.. so whats the advantage on lpg vs gas? In Norway every minor city got atleast 1 station that got E85, think the "rule" is that you shall be able to cross the country on it. Statoil is my friend..

lpg makes the combustion colder less chance of detonation

Seen 100hp in difference between 98okt petrol and E85.

Im learning stuff. Never thougt of lpg since we dont have it up here, but seen on tv that its a quite common thing to do in england to gain mileage on stock engines..
Im 5 min away from my nearst pump thats got E85 and the cost is 2/3 compared to petrol.

yes alot of people convert there car to lpg for better mpg
our fuel prices over here are absolutly stupid its £1.45 a litre for petrol and nearly £1.50 for diesel

Just paid 1.83pounds a litre for 98 okt patrol, E85 is alot cheeper and im able to find more hp on it. Choice is easy.
Downsize is its smells and make you hungry like never before..

Just looked into the e85 fuel morrisons stopped selling it in 2010 I remember seeing the pumps with this on and not knowing anything about it it is still available in ireland

Progress slow mate as I've just had to put my van thro an mot so spent abit of money on that but all I'm waiting for is my big ends and mains from marhle then I can crack on with it so expect some work to carry on prob middle of next week o and I'm gonna try and get the inlet manni done

cheers mate it already is finished lol
was finished last year it's just I took it off the Rd for winter but decided I wanted more power so I pulled the engine and built another one
and added a few other little goodies to it

yeah sorry mate ment see the new spec all done and running also how much would you say it cost you to turbo to the first spec including management and mapping

well I spent 3.5 k on the engine that includes turbo and the manifold etc
then I bought the ecu for 300 had it looked at by a guy that builds them he gave it the ok
mapping I think I must have spent about 400 all in coz he also made me a new engine loom brand new which was 150
I've spent more than that now just on pistons lol
