ok not realy done much realy this weekend but here a coupple of pics as i know we like to see a bit. iv basicly had the front off and sorting those wings as the lip on the f/g was too thick and looked like shitty reps so cut it down to look a bit more genuine. i think youl agree it was essential. plus i found that i can still use the old inner arch liners as they fill in the space. will require only a small amout of f/g matting to join them to the wings.

ok quick question, looking back at some pictures on here, do you think i should blackout the kidney grill to match the shadow chrome look? whats your thoughts?
i also have some eye brows i was thinking on useing, was thinking to paint them black, once again, whats your thoughts? and dont say its my car its my choice, i know lol id just like some feedback please :D

It is however your car - so your choice buddy!

Great build, keep up the good work.

Mines not had the rear seal strip on since I bought the car.

Just one of those things I've not got around to, it doesn't seem to affect the car in any way. I guess I've never measured the journey to work to the nearest millisecond to measure the aero affect :D
cheers,

harry

the rubber seal is a weather strip, its the bottom window seal to prevent the water just going strait down into the boot, it sends water to the sides where the drainage channels are thats all, winkeye and there rocking horse poo to find.

looks brilliant, top job. On the kidney grills and the eyebrows i'd say no, think it will look far more authentic in standard trim.

has anyone had a price from BMW as to how much it is for a new rear window glass? cant see it being cheap.... cant seem to find a second hand one anywhere. these m3 reps are a bloody money swallowing pit lol. think it stands me at about £1800-£2000 to get this far. and thats before i start on interior and running gear. il be doing £1000 on rims easily. even when this car is finished it wont be finished if you know what i mean, theres always bits to do/buy and add on and upgrade/improve.

i'd get some black vinyl wrap and try it in the bumpers and see how it looks then at least if you don't like it you can always remove it. You have gone a long way to make it look "right" so i would go with the black insert in the bumpers.

yeah was thinking electrical tape is exactly the right width so will try it and decide wether to paint it or not. and adil325i yeah your right. but im convinced the car will be worth more than it will cost me by the end of it. but at the same time the only time i plan on getting rid of it is if it get written off or stolen lol. other than that il keep it

heres what today has achieved, started at 9:00 and until 21:00. will be doing same tomorow.

Image

in this next picture i sanded a line in the filler to give the impression its the actual join in panels and not somthing blended together in filler.
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
by the way i got bored the other day and cut the rear springs to see how it looks, couldnt be arsed with the front ones lol
Image
Image
Image
Image
then i went round with the tiger seal along the skirts and front spoiler to seal it and also add that bit more strength.
Image
Image
Image
and thats it until tomorow. plan on having ALL filler work done and then in final stage of primer ready to flat and paint...... to be continued

by the way, some people asked about the mini in the garage, heres a coupple of quick pics. far from finished though
