I have a leaky fuel filler pipe.

Problem is I have an extra tank so the (metal) pipe is y shaped unlike normal filler pipes.

I want to keep the extra tank, just to keep things as they are. So I would rather no just replace it with a second hand normal one.

However i rung bmw today to ask how much it costs, and its Ԛ£119     Way to much at the mo...

So does anyone have anyhints or tips in repairing it?

How much does petrol eat plastic?

No kind of tape seams to stick-the petrol just dissolvs the glue.

Would some kind of paint work?

What about an exhuast repair stuff?

All ideas welcome....

I brazed some steel patches onto one a few years ago. Still going strong.

Hi

If you cant braize..a mate of mine breaks E30s and might have a pipe to suit, know he does save these, whether he has saved one with the extra tank I dont know, but he did sell me one of the long range tanks recently if that is what you mean

Cheers

How easy is it to take the pipe out?

It seams to be attached by the body work filler hole..

Thanks

Theres a screw holding it to a bracket on the inner wheel arch, (Common place for the arch to rust through), just below the filler opening. Remove the wheelarch half liner and you'll see it.
