Has anyone tried the stick together CV boots like this?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Spl ... 336aac3e9f
As you may have read in the mot fail thread the outer boot is gone on my cabby.
There are mixed reviews as to whether or not they are any good.
So is it worth using one of these as they come in at a £10 and I can then do it myself.
Or pay the garage to fit a new one. For any professional mechanics on here what would you reckon the labour time would be to replace an outer CV boot for a garage?

well, iv no experience of that boot, bud, but mine failed the MOT the day before yesterday on exactly the same problem and the garage charged me £31 per hr and it took them an hour plus the part cost, so not to bad. hope that helps abit on costs.

E30 CV joints don't have to work at the extreme angles that those on front wheel drive cr*p do, so I'd expect a stick on to work reasonably well on an E30. Never tried it, because I've yet to see a damaged E30 CV boot.

Thanks for the responses, An hours labour sounds fine to me especially as then it should never need done again.
