exhaust manifold and linkages

bought a project off here last week its a 316 lux with a e34 2.5 m50 engine wiring all done engine box in wat i need to finish is the manifolds and a few bits so wats the best option to solve the exhaust manifold tubular e36? or cut the e34 i have neither so with 1 do i buy and wat linkages are u boys running

You need to buy a pair of E36 M52 328i manifolds and hack them about a tad.
As for steering linkage you need to source 2 x E34 steering UJ`s.
Problem is only one UJ is fitted per E34 so youll need to find 2 breakers.
Steering shaft to go inbetween the 2 UJ`s can be bought from Danthe on here,drop him a PM.

thats great thanks the rack is in but not sure wats been changed wats the diffrence to the e34 and e30 ujs wat about gear linkage wats the best to source

above option, but i still use the original linkage.... (for now)

chop an inch off the 3 primaries on the back bank and have tig welded back to the back plate. i had a custom free flow made up in prospeed exhausts Cardiff and the down pipes were made to clear e30 linkage

when i fit e46 rack i will need a solid linkage but ive been driving my car for nearly 2 years as an m50 and the latest m52 with no issues what so ever

No need to cut the 3 rear primaries although clearence is tight.
Ive got 50mm downpipes and mine dont touch.
Engine mount is spaced though.

my engine mouts are not spaced. ive got about 10mm of clearance to the linkage. ive never had the dredded ''manifold hit the linkage through hard left corner'' like some guys have reported

With 50mm pipes and spacer on the mount ive got probably about 5mm clearence.
I rounded the edges/corners of the upper UJ as I was worried about clearence/catching but never had any issues.
Done 3 other M50/52 swaps the same way and none have reported any issues either.
No loss of torque due to cut primaries too
