hi all the steering on my e30 touring 1994 is giving me a funny wobble ! it has always felt a bit odd at high speed but put that down to it being the power steering. It now feels like the steering rack could be loose? i know that is an obvious place to start but was wondering if it was a common problem or if anyone else has had this problem before i commence spending time and money trying to find out the cause......

many thanks guys

Are your wheels balanced correctly?

balancing, in my noobish opinion. I only know cos mine did it recently. It does get worse as time goes on (I think I'm right in saying).

Mine was very wobbly last year, this happened suddenly , turns out my discs were warped.
Found that out after paying for tracking and balancing only to still have the problem!

Could be any number of things:
Wheel balance, tracking, control arm bushes, worn ball joints, worn rack or the steering damper in the the column could be at fault.
BMW and Opel, both RWD, both german, both good fun
