running an m50 with no lamba????

hey, ive got an m50 and its killing me, simply due to the fact that it does 90miles to a flipping tank...haha. Im running it without a lamba sensor atm until i can afford one, how much will this effect it? (stupid question ino lol) ...also what difference does it make having the inlet manifold temp sensor unplugged? the one above the brake booster. Thankyou, and sorry for sounding thick aha

You've answered your own question really with the two items you mention, namely the absence of a lambda sensor and no air inlet temp sensor.

If you're getting 90 miles to a tank it will be running rich as fook and you may end up with bore wash if you're not careful.

The cost of the sensors you need would pay for themselves in the savings on fuel

A second hand sensor cost would be covered with the saving on the first tank of fuel, even if you bought a new one it would be paid for with a couple of tanks

The lack of lambda is not the fuelling problem. It´ll just revert to the oem map which will never cause this type of fuelling.

When you disconnect the air temp sensor the ecu reads minimum air temp which makes it very rich.

so re connecting that sensor will make a world of good? basicaly if im understanding you correct, my engines pretty much running as if it had the choke constantly on is it not?

Lambda will help on a run. Motorfactors were the cheapest for an OEM spec one for me.

im on with it this weekend allll of it... i was doing the conversion at work after hours and towards the end they were pestering me to get it out of the yard etc so some finaly little bits and bobs got rushed! so im going over everything to make her a bobby dazzler again. il post pics this weekend.

agreed with danthe im afraid... 40mm MAX imo. by far the best compramise. i dont think these look great slammed on their bellies, maybey im getting old haha
