Does anyone else think it's mince that someone wants to use the 'for sale' section of this website but doesnt want any comments it really gets my goat.

My E30 is a hobby, the zone is a forum; so its for people who care about the cars and like the bantering aspect of it.

You see a nice car for sale you naturally want to say something or likewise WTF are u on wantng £5k for that!.... (if only someone had stopped me lol)

I'll respect the mod's if they tell me to shut it, after all it's for them to keep the site running smoothly and all that....

I just think Autotrader and Pistonheads serve their purpose if you dont want comments dont advertise it to people who have a specific interest.

I'll step down aff my high horse now!

Well i can tell you now that the original owner of my 325i sport was 80 when he passed away after owning it for 10 years from new.

There is another zoner on here caller Francoise who bought a 325i sport auto from an elderly guy who had it from new.

They are out there!

I actually think as long as the comments are legitimate and in good faith, then advertising on a forum, you've got to field them.

If someone puts a bog standard 318i up and claims it has 300bhp then they need to be called out. They won't like it, but they wouldn't, would they?! And yes, it'll obviously affect their sale, but that's life.

With reference to the ad in question I know what your saying...

But if your not being an add nazi its unlikely anyone's going to have anything negative to say.... unless your way off the mark with your add then again back to my point use a car sale website if you dont want feedback not an enthusiasts website.

Maybe I am wrong and thats fine, I've been wrong before. I would just prefer it if people respected the site for what it is... a void of nonsense and procrastination in the most part with some right helpful advice when your shytey old beamer wont work properly :)

When a car is advertised with slight mods that are not to someone's taste I don't see the need to brand it as council, just ignore it and keep looking for one the ticks sll your boxes .some eagle eyed nob on here wrote a comment on my for sale thread stating that a cable tie in my engine bay means my engine had been removed at some point and now my fan is wearing a whole in a rad hose.
This was not the case by the way, I broke a hose clip whilst removing my rocker cover, and used a cable tie to stop the hose dropping.

My two pence:

For sale threads are there to sell a car or parts ONLY, not open a discussion as to the sellers credibility.

I can't stand all this GLWS mate, once is acceptable but 10 times over is just gay.

Dergoatory comments just stop people selling on the zone.

So you think it is over priced? What is wrong with a friendly PM to advise from your vast experience?

You think the bloke is full of shit? Why not send a mod a PM?

You think it is a nice car? So why is there 3 pages of "GLWS" and "wish I had the money" "If only you weren't miles away" usual shyte?

I'll tell you now most zoners or people I know think the zone is gay because anytime you advertise everybody bored on Tuesday night tells you it is too expensive and your talking guff.

It's tiresome man, let a potential buyer have a look, let a seller attempt to sell, you never know he may be back with something you need in a couple of weeks at a good price, if you call him a coont then more fool you. I would have thought really with a site like this we should all be there to help each other and keep the E30 spirit going.

Starting a thread encouraging this kind of shit makes me think you need a life. No offence mate but if you spam my for sale threads I will tell you to fook off, even though you seem a nice enough fella up to now.
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

This is the rarest of E30's,built only on Friday afternoons after quality control have finished for the week. Most have two doors on the passenger side and just one on the driver's side.
The ultra rare versions have two doors on the driver's side... :D

I said something about never having seen a three door E30.

All he had to do was edit his ad.

But he went on insisting that it was a three door. He was the dick.

Is he a mate of yours?

Not a mate of mine.

I saw what you both put, we knew what he meant that it was coupe, pictures were there, you just went over the top about it so you only have yourself to blame if the mods told you to wind your neck in.

You seem level headed, I notice your posts as you make a good contribution but you WERE being silly on that occasion and you know it :)

The E30Zone has been going for 9 years now with the FS section in this same format, it's hardly going to suddenly change now..................this isn't exactly something that's not been discussed before.

It will always be a good place to buy E30/Parts but always hard work to sell anything.

Personally i prefer having the open forsale threads, can't stand other Forums that have closed adds.

I agree with these points.

If i see something on a for sale thread that i happen to be looking at that is incorrect, i will post.

Like here for example.

I understand, it does look like he was spinning a yarn and you were bored. He asked not to comment on it you could have PM'd him. The guy has as much right as any of us to sell his stuff though, and he did ask people to keep spam to themselves....

Tragic photpshop to look like a 3dr hatch/estate.

Look through the windows and you can see the other C pillar in the original location.

Maybe a bit silly. But I was actually trying to help him get his ad right.

Got called a dick and a w**ker for my trouble. And jumped on by a mod. The abusive posters weren't reprimanded in any way.

Now you've called me a dick too. Cheers.
