Jay at chippeduk will chip or map any bmw for free so the owner can give a final indipendant review on his goods.
There will be no costs except fuel costs getting to Bromsgrove which is yards off junction 1 of the M42 and junction 4 of the M5 motorways.
All you have to do is goto www.chippeduk.com and get his number then call him.
This is a good offer here people, you have no outlay and not only will he map the car but he will do a full service reset and diagnostic on the car making sure it is in good order both before and after the work is competed.
All that is required is that you give an honest indication of what you think of the car.

well i wish i could get to Birmingham today.
Id take the doorstep challenge.

Whats the worst possible outcome, knackered engine!
(but is this really likely to happen?i doubt it)

Come on fellas, surely as tourerti says in his other post,if its that bad then why is he still in business?

just a bit of constructive criticism for the website - the word 'too' and 'to' have very different meanings - you may want to chop off an o :hammer:

It's a bit "flash" without offering too much real info, IMHO...

Another date can be made if it makes it easier for someone to want to test.
If you own a newer car a live map can be done on anything from a mini to a ferrari it matters not, all you need to do is get to the midlands and you will get a free remap or chip.

Toureti/Jay: Well...I'm up for it....My 325i is in tip-top mechanical nick and I am considering having a chip fitted in any case...The car is (AFAIK) 100% stock...other than a Magnex rear box... and has had regular servicing and maintenence.

But I want to have a power test done first, to check all is well and to have a baseline to work against.
I also need to book a day off work...although it can be fairly quick (ie this week)...
The RR power runs are the thing that may be the issue, though.

I doubt it could be aranged this week for the rollers but of course that doesnt stop you from using your arse dyno :)
This is more of a matter that the items work and not the power it gives, you will get free work, if you like the difference then good, if not the car will be put back to standard,
You will be judging the work and effort put into this chip/map and I give you my word you will be impressed.
If you call Jay now he will book you in with no charge whatsoever.

Tourerti/Jay...

Bear with me a few mins...I will try and book a power run at a local RR (either Redline Tuning or Clifford Cox) for my car and a day off work.

I agree, though, that it isn't entirely about the power increase...It is also about the driveability and economy as well as the customer experience.

Of course I am more than willing to be wholly objective in the assesment, but without a comparative power figure, the excercise is a purely subjective one...
The offer is a goodun, though...

Righty...I've booked a power run/test at Redline for Weds 30th Nov...

I've been trying to ring the Bromsgrove number for ChippedUK, but keep getting the full mailbox message...

I'm ready to do this on Friday, though (or possibly Thursday if it can't be arranged for Fri) if I can actually get through to make the appointment.

If there is an alternative number for Jay (mobile?) perhaps someone can PM me...

And also please tell us the tools you have to do this?

Jay uses race2000, optican, evc winOLS, 555pro, emp21 and a rework station.

Can you answer me 1 question please.
If you were shown absolute proof that jays maps work would you beleive it, and I mean from indipendant people who have nothing to do with chippeduk.

Its not a question about weather the maps work, i think it is more about the claims that were/have been made about the gains.

But as people say, "The proof is in the pudding"

Kam, I totally agree and as said, check any bmw forum about chippeduk and you will see thousands of proven results and very few complaints.
It is only this forum where people pass negative comments I assure you.

Deed is done

Redline Tuning in Iver is gonna do the pre-fit power test on Weds
Jay has booked my car in for Friday AM to have it chipped/mapped/whatever

Next week, after I've driven it a few miles I will take it back to Redline for a second power run.

Obviously power depends to some extent on atmospheric conditions, but he is independent and very good at his job so it will be minimised...

I'll write up my (unbiased) findings as soon as possible next week...

I should just point out...I have NO connection whatsoever to any party involved....

If you tell him next monday i'd be more than happy to have the work done.
Car is of the road till sat, but i'm only 20 mins down the road and would like
to see the actual benefits the chip would give :D
