I've got a 325 89 sport, and I'm just curious to know if there's any part of the electrical system on these cars that can cause a battery drain, it drains flat within a week, I mean the ignition lights won't even light up. Im testing the battery this week I've got it off the car and I'm going to drop a meter on it every day to see if it's actually retaining voltage, after all it could just be the battery. But just also wondering if the cars have any known issues which cause a drain. There is no alarm fitted.
Thanks

This prob started 2 weekends. It was flat one sat I charged the battery - all ok, left the car for a week - flat. Charged battery again and it's now reading 12v. But prior to this the battery was fine it was in the car for weeks - no problem.

Trouble is, if a battery has been allowed to get utterly flat (not just low) then you can only do that twice before the battery is effectively killed. So a battery that was losing the will to live has been killed off in a very short time.
The wiki has got info on the battery, including drain problems; just type "Battery" into the Wiki search box.
