There is another one with similar mileage and was in the Gaydon museum. I believe its the last ever made and is a Carousel model.

The Carousel was X plate Trevor. The Crusader was the last. I saw an A plate Mark 5 around 15 years ago.

It may well have been a crusader come to think of it. I have photos of it at gaydon. I'll post them up if I can find them.Andyboy wrote:The Carousel was X plate Trevor. The Crusader was the last. I saw an A plate Mark 5 around 15 years ago.

My uncle had a carousel in green, they were based on the L model.
Crusaders were based on GL models and were quite often two tone.

They were a big deal at the time. My first ever Cortina was a W plate 1.3L four door in Diamond white that I bought back in 1986 for about 300 quid - I replaced the shagged wings and doors, repainted it and got a Crusader stripe kit from Gowrings the local Ford dealer. Add a set of sports wheels with chrome beauty rings and Man, my shi*t didn't stink.
