Hi, my insurance is up for renewal next week on my sport, its gone up from 180 to 250. Who is everyone insured with? and more to the point whose cheap. this will be the third year and ive had a quote off adrian flux for 210 which i though is good on 3000 mile limited mileage. and it will also bring my van insurance down which is next month!! im 27, driving 8 years but got banned for a month in 10/09 for speeding and live in bradford (uninsured capital of the solar system)
cheers

Did mine with Flux for the first time this year after being with Lancaster for 3 Years - cheap as chips.

£210 for a sport in a Bradford postcode with a less than perfect driving record doesnt sound bad to be honest.

You could spend 3 hours on the phone and shave a few quid off maybe but is it worth it ?

Few people i know have just insured with e-choice
Part of esure , They said there insurance has gone down loads
I tried it as had to renew and saved nearly 80 quid on the mazdur
I went through go-compare and they came out cheapest also
Do you have another car ?
Might be worth putting the sport on a classic policy
Tbh £250 isnt a lot for insurance and piece of mind

yeh i didnt think 210 was too bad, tried graham sykes they wouldnt insure cause of the ban is there any others i can try? with the flux policy its 100 excess then i asked them 'what if i had wheels, lowered and exhaust on it and he said it'd be 230 so think i'll come clean now! my current insurer is footman james, when i first got the car it was 140 fully comp. the guy on the phone said if i have my car n van with them they bounce off each other n bring them both down cause my van insurance is 740 with 8 years no claims

Then the £210 dont seem to bad if im honest
Especially as you mentioned you had been banned
Just check whats actually covered and what your entitled to and what excess your paying
Everyones insurance has gone up and it certainly pays to shop about

Try going through Quidco Compare. I got my 325i cabby policy through there comparison engine with surestream and it came to approx £70 for the year after cashback.

First thing to do is to get a quote from your existing insurer, posing as a new customer.
Never accept a renewal quote - this is where insurance companies make their profits, counting on the loyalty/laziness of existing customers.
Back when I had 'normal' insurance I'd go through this charade every year, with me quoting the new customer price, them saying they couldn't possibly renew at that price, me threatening to cancel the policy, and them, eventually agreeing to the lower figure.

Change your first name, and move your birthday by one day.
Don't give a 'phone number - if the website protests, enter eleven zeros.
