On my 89' 325i. The revs sit on or just above 1rpm as im slowing down to stop, 3-4secs after completly stopping it drops to where it should and idles fine, but as i pull away there is slight hesitation (revs dip) then drives fine. I could coast/roll the car to a stop but same thing. Also sometimes on cold start it revs upto 2rmp until i blip the throttle a couple times then it settles. I have looked for obvious vacume leaks, cleaned out ICV, blue temp sensor changed, new plugs, checked all hoses and any connections. Could something be sticking? Any help appreciated.

Sounds very much like a gummed up or badly set throttle position switch to me:

Is the TPS the round connector just under the throttle body?

Also check the AFM, try and swap with a good working one. I had this very same issue and it was resolved by swapping the AFM. I had also checked checked various other items.

Maybe a good thing to check the injector loom connector under the inlet manifold as these allow water in which causes corrosion and poor contact with the wiring. Clean it out and apply electrical contact spray or grease

Hope this helps bro :)

Thanks Ajay.

I have checked the injector loom connector, thats what i was reffering to in the above post and its nice and dry.

Will have a go with the AFM. Its not that bad just annoying more than anything.

Yes. Click the blue links in the Wiki and it explains each part in detail.
