Right I am prepared to be slated but I have tried searching the forum to no avail. I am trying to figure out where the BBS centre cap removal tool lives on my car and consequently to find out if I have one? Also are they really necessary or can I simply twist them off and pull?

Cheers

There are two types of tools.

The (later) spanner shaped one seems to slot into a cutout in the boot lining above the jack well.

The earlier socket style tool does not seem to have a fixed abode (at least as far as I could find out after buying one)

But no, you don't actually need one as most BBS caps these days are so worn that you can twist them off by hand....

The one that you need to remove in the dark and in the rain one day, won't!

Out of interest, where did you find it?

(Please don't say "under 3 inches of stagnant water".....)

haha oh right. Yeah its a convertible so the sunroof is out but I will try and order a new boot seal and rear light seal. fingers crossed that will kick the problem in the ass.

The joys of E30 ownership!
