Just did a M50 turbo yesterday

Turned out real nice.
Would have given a bit better numbers if the car hadn´t been running out of fuel and the boost control was wound all the way up really. He might be back for more with a stiffer spring in.

404 ftlb, that's going to get it moving well! Is that 15-16psi?

That is not bad going on just an MLS gasket and a set of ARP's.

What turbo is it running?
And is that just on the standard ecu?

Not long!

A friend bought a chinese turbo, think it could well have been a gt35 replica jobbie for his 20vt golf. Lasted seconds. Started, revved, huge boom and and engine full of shrapnel. Cost him a new lump without even driving it!

Buy cheap, buy twice is never more appropriate than with car bits.

Obviously not every single turbo does this, but why chance it?
