Lost my fuel light, replaced all the bulbs, changed the fuel gauge, changed the SI board, nothing worked so changed the complete dash. Still no light, any ideas.

Is the Fuel Gauge the right one? For Instance if you put a 55 litre gauge, on a car with a 63 litre tank, it won't read accurately. I speak from Experience!

The low fuel indicator light? Have you tried it with the sender plugged in but out of the tank? The needle usually goes through the red before the light comes on IIRC

That's a good point, I didn't know there was a difference between gauges, I also don't know if the gauge is the right one for the car, is there any way I can tell which is the correct gauge for the car ?
I haven't tried it with the sender plugged in and out of the tank because I'm pretty sure the fault lies in the dash as I've been messing around with the temp gauge and cruise control and it's only since messing around I've lost the light.

I swapped a set of clocks out on a 318, as the speedo stopped working, the gauge would only register halfway, when the tank was filled up. I discovered it was because the clocks were from a 55 litre tank car, my tank was a 63 litre. Swapped the gauge from the old set, all working again!
Dan is more of an expert than me, so its possible the sender could be the problem.

Just seems odd it stopped working after I had the clocks apart from the ten millionth time, but could well be the sender unit. More expense I suppose.
