I've been having problems getting my m30 converted e30 to run properly. The idle used to be hunting badly, but have replaced a few hoses that were split and it has settled down.
Now the car will start up, and idle where it should but sounds really spluttery and rough, almost like a missfire. When you rev the engine from idle it struggles to pick the revs up and splutters, sometimes with a little pop in the exhaust, but when the revs are up and you blip the throttle again, it will rev perfectly. It does get a bit better once the engine has properly warmed up but it still isn't great. When driving the car it feels pretty good, though I haven't driven it far as no tax/MOT on there.
There isn't smoke from the exhaust, and the exhaust fumes smell normal, not like it is overfuelling.
Parts that I have changed recently are plugs, cap and rotor arm, crank sensor, blue temp sensor, fuel filter, cleaned and tested ICV. Compression test perfect
I haven't tested the TPS yet, could this be at fault? Another idea I have is to refurb the injectors, would this help? Also would the wrong plugs cause running issues like these? I wasn't sure they were 100% the right ones, but I was assured they were.
Engine is a standard 1990 e34 535i engine
Any ideas appreciated please!

You replaced the blue temp sensor, but did you test the wiring to make sure the signal is getting to the ECU?

Any other things I can check on the car, or does the fault definitely sound like the blue sensor wiring? Thanks

My mistake, it's the brown sensor that needs to be M20

ICV is checked and cleaned out, I'll check the AFM too as I'm not sure if I've checked that yet.
