We do not know you, just come up to us and say hello, how difficult is that?

agree with daimlerman i'm afraid, you have to make yourself known, not just expect everyone else to go out of their way to come and talk to you. that said, there are always some snob types at single marque owners club meets, you just need to avoid them

How did you miss Malcolm anyway?
Surely the suit with the arrows on it, the extremely short haircut, slighly tentative gait and the ball and chain were a dead give away?

BTW,Simon13 had me hod-carrying,we built two new en-suite cells, with contrasting brickwork to name them 'Barry' and 'Kos'....

We were there all night. Sorry you felt ignored but I didn't know who/where you were.wafuboy wrote:Hi im still quite new to all this forum stuff but last night me and a mate (whose on the e46 forum) went to a meet at a pub near chesterfield, it was a bmw owners club meet nothing to do with this e30 forum. but when we were there everyone seemed to blank us no one spoke to us so after 2.5 hours of being ignored we left.

i can understand a few of the points like why didnt you talk to us etc but, surely as a club its common place to have new intrested people arrive? so isnt it best theat the group approach the new folk? i thought it was quite intimidating trying to speak to a group of people that are constantly in full flow conversation. ill give it another try. there were a couple of very nice cars there though.

Fair enough. I won't be at the next meet but give Steve a ring the day before and make yourself known!wafuboy wrote:i can understand a few of the points like why didnt you talk to us etc but, surely as a club its common place to have new intrested people arrive? so isnt it best theat the group approach the new folk? i thought it was quite intimidating trying to speak to a group of people that are constantly in full flow conversation. ill give it another try. there were a couple of very nice cars there though.

I did notice a black E46 Coupe in the car park but had no idea if it just belonged to someone dining there.

yeah that was my mates car mine in the garage in the process of being put back together
Its a common misconception I'm affraid.
Alot of the people there, know each other, get on and met up there. They are going to be talking amongst themselves.
This can come across as unfriendly but its just normal.
If you walked into a pud you'd never been in before, would you expect everyone in there to talk to you?
