Hiya, I've just bought a H reg 318is with 150.000 miles which would be the best option an Engine Swap or a Supercharger and what kind of price am I looking to pay for parts and labour?
Thanks.

engine swap will be cheaper unless you are a metal fabricator/machinist
superchargers need to mounted very accurately, and costs for forced induction steadily rise no matter how thrifty you are - new ecu , dump valve, ducting, intercooling, sensors, gauges etc are required
though it can, and has been done by appletree on here and his was an 318is aswell

Not only that, but how receptive is a 150k mile M42 engine going to be to some boost?
Going forced induction will probably not be cheap - i.e £3-£5k

M42 has quite a high compression ratio to turbo nicely.
Would probably need differing pistons and rods to reduce the CR before boostings it.

Buy that 2.8 in the for sale section off Nick, job done.
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

I've read that this company can do it for you. http://www.gkdsportscars.com/index.html
And it is rumoured to be around the £2000+ mark.
Believe this is my first post here.... be nice to hear what people think of this. There is a thread on it here: http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/f81 ... r-t115552/.
I'm thinking of looking for a an e30 318is next year. Possibly would go to GKD if it is worth it.
