Don't know about power gain, my non-vanos with them on dyno'd at stock power so I guess they might have got me back whatever ponies had escaped??

They sound great, they are much more of a ball ache to fit than the 328i manifolds though.

What did you have to do to make them fit?

I don't think they would work overly well with an m5x. IIRC the ports are different sizes and the primaries will be matched to the m3's cylinder capacity and where it makes peak power. Also by the time you have chopped it around you will loose a lot of the benefits and a BTB one is a bit pricey for an m5x in my eyes

The only way the M3 manifold will fit without altering it is to smack your bulkhead in at the corner of the transmission tunnel near to where the steering linkage comes through the bulkhead.

You will also need a custom steering linkage,

To be honest, for the price you have to pay for a used S50 manifold and the hassle you will face, you are far better off spending the money on buying a set of modified M52 manifolds fron DanThe.

Waste of time.. The M52 manifolds are a very good design as standard.

Trust me, the S50 ones are just a ball ache. They do make a lovely bark mind you, but if I could have my time again, I'd not be fighting a pair of these on. You need to modify before the flanges/ flexis too so that they clear the anti-roll bar.

Get a pair of M52 manifolds and send 'em off to Dan.

Best speak to Dan about the configuration of the downpipes as I know they will mate upto a standard 325 system, but not sure if it is a 2 or 3 piece they mate upto.

What's the obsession with running a single pea shooter out the back?

I have a manifold that clears a z3/e36 rack that goes into a Y piece with a 2.5" bore. All stainless and made from a modified m52 manifold that I don't need as the side exit I made was too loud. Any use to you?
