Sidelight loom/speedo sensor loom the same???

Guys

My speedo is erratic, and looking at previous posts, I suspect it's the loom to the diff sensor (Which is original.)

I also saw somewhere that the plug is the same as the sidelight one and this can be used to replace the original.

Can anyone confirm that this is definitely the case and if there is a specific type/age, or are they all the same?

Also, how much wire would I need to be left on from the donor car?

Thanks, but I just need to know if the sidelight plug IS The same as the speedo sensor plug.....

And it turns out that they are not the same ! Two pins yes, but the plugs are different shapes....
