I've got a 318is that i plan to use for getting up rally stages to go marshalling. The car (a bit of a shitter) is sitting on lowered springs (of unknown origin) at the moment and i need some stiffer, standard ride height springs to give me the ground clearance i need.
Was just wondering if anyone could offer any sort of advice/opinion on an "upgrade" like this????

you might as well got some original m-tech springs, they're softish but better than most aftermarket lowering springs. and will also raise the car. 320/325 springs will just make the front ride about 10mm higher, the rear will be unchanged.
Bollocks to this 24v scrap!

Hmmm.....
I'm looking for a cheap, short term, option right now. I'm thinking of maybe doing a coil over conversion when i have the cash......

the springs sometimes crop up on here dazleeds might have some although may have sold. they go for a reasonable price tbh

Believe me bob, if i had the money i'd have an IX already!!! There was a full rally prepped one on ebay over a year ago now, which i so badly wanted to have. But because i didn't have Ԛ£10,000 kicking about the place i couldn't even have hoped to bid on it.......
So i have a badly abused excuse for an IS instead!!

mate if only you had posted this 4-5 weeks ago........there was a 325ix by me for Ԛ£900 with the full body kit on it looked lush but i got told to stay away from it as the parts are quite expensive!

Saying goodbye to 4-pot wrongness

Hight running costs would be a problem for me too. Trying to save up at the moment. Deposit for a house (but i'll proably end up buying a new car next year instead).
I'd so love to have a full on rally beast, but just can't afford it. All i really need is something with the ground clearance to get in and out of the stages (and will be a bit of fun on the way).
Can't spend too much, but as it's a second car i can afford to take my time.

whats expensive on em? it's basically a 325 with drive to the front wheels. ECP can get all the parts and BM but will be expensive there.

Bought the car off ebay for Ԛ£320 with some MOT left. Needs a few bits but for what i need it for, it's deffo cheap!!!
The M3 leather will be up for sale as soon as i can find something else suitable to sit on
. The front seats aren't in brilliant condition (read, tiny fag burn and worn RH bolster on RH seat, other is pretty good tho) but the back seat is mint
.
I'd rather have a bit of a shitter, that way if i bugger it up on stage i won't be too bothered about it......

Looking at that picture, mine are replicas.
The wheel nuts are exposed all the time and the centre caps just clip on.
Those one's look like they have Alpina style centres.

I'm now confused.
Mine look exactly the same as MIMs but have weird clip in centre caps that say smiths on.
They're horrible chromed plastic things that i wanna throw away but dont have anything to replace them with....

in that case they are obviously Smiths.just a different model i assume!
Maybe just put some BMW badges over them,or better still get a set of 15" BBS`s,these look good on any E30
