So I'm driving along enjoying the sunshine yesterday and I noticed a new noise that I've not heard before. I've got a loud strange ticking / running water kind of noise behind the glove box.

Its most noticable when pulling off, through first and second. The noise increases with engine speed. When I got home I tried revving the car in neutral and the noise appears then too.

A quick search came up with a couple of threads pointing toward heater hoses re-fitted the wrong way round - I have never touched the heater hoses so slightly confused!

Anyone else had this before?

sounds like the grommet where you wires go through the bulkhead has popped out

either that or you have rot below the fuse box

had it with my 325i sport, was rotten below fusebox

Check the hoses then, hose from the back of the head is the heater inlet and should be connected to the bottom pipe going through the bulkhead

I'll find the holes on Sunday Matt, sounds like we have matching Rust winkeye

I've got a long screw driver so no need to remove trim either!
