Hi all,

I need to know the operating pressure differences if any, between the M62 and S62oil pumps.

My thought train is the m62 has single vanos' and the S62 has dual.

I will be fitting the S62 with an X5 sump and hopefully oil pump. I just need to know it will feed sufficient oil and pressure to the engine and the vanos.

I have checked everywhere I can think including BMW. I can't find a manufacturer of either pump so can't even call them direct.

Any help appreciated.

When are you going to start a build thread Turk?!! winkeye

Are the pumps interchangable?

There's a fair difference in drive gear size...

Thread will be up soon. Just need to find some time to witte it all.

The pump should fit straight on as long as the surrounding parts ie sump pipes etc are used too.

I've just had confirmation they're the same volumed pumps too. The Vanos has its own pump do that's not an issue.

My engine swap seems a lot more straightforward all of a sudden! Cheers!! :D

Sorry for the un-informed post BTW. It was meant as more of a question than it came across as! :o: :)
Having owned a couple of 4WD cars, I'll be following with interest. :D

Cheers. Dave. :D
