Hi guys,
Looking for a bit of help with my m60b30 conversion.
Pretty much everything is done apart from the manifolds and the wiring. Manifold will be custom, so not too worried.
The loom adaptor from e30.de is done..... but struggling with the auto loom.
I have read about just joining the yellow and black, cutting out most of the auto loom etc
I have found the wire that joins the ecu to the auto ecu, pulled back the shielding and joined the two wires... nothing happened.
Can anyone give me some step by steps or a diagram of what i need to do?
Much appreciated.
Rob

Method known as "google + "bmw wiring diagram" + couple of hours" will solve the trick.
No direct answers are possible as the wire-colours/pinouts change slightly from year-to-year...

Yup, tried that "method" in fact read several posts and threads also.
I know the colours-pin-outs change with year, was more looking for help with what functions need to be connected. Seems to be a chart for the main ecu though?
On e30.de the guy Tino refers to the auto loom being cut away apart from three wires, but doesn't say what they do. On here there is a reference to just joining the black and yellow.
There are threads about the conversion, guides available on r3v etc, but no guide to the auto loom side.

Yap, the auto-loom is a bit pain in the ass
We modified one auto-loom for my friend, though can't remember how we did it but in the end we cut almost 2/3 off it, including diagnostic-connector and all auto-related parts. And it worked!
As I've understood it, there're basically three wires that matter; BL/YE starter-wire, BL/GN underloader-relay wire and BL/RT EWS-wire. Once those are sorted out, there shouldn't bee anything that prevents it working fine (in addition to basic fuel pump etc...)

Thanks Jonsku,
I will dig out the schematics again and have another stab. I have also been in touch with Tino at e30.de
If I can get it to work, I will post about exactly what is needed.

Thanks for the offer....I am in Cape Town, South Africa.
Car is back tonight. Has been away for a few days having the manifold and exhaust sorted.
Will have another look this week, pretty sure I sorted it out.
Next issue is acc. cable. I have not got the e34 one, is there an alternative?

Stock E30 325 cable is too short, so you need either to lengthen it or buy E34 V8 cable.
