My Touring really needs a new headlining, and I fancy a black one to match the rest of the car. But the only one for sale has the cutout for a manual sunroof winder, not the electric version.
How hard is it to cover that up? Does the blanking plate for the motor fit into exactly the same hole as the winder handle?

I've already got the overhead check, it's a proper-engined touring
The only other thing I can think of is to fit the big black plastic part that carries the sunvisors, but I don't know whether that interferes with the sunroof itself.

I've converted a couple of tourings, and came to the conclusion that the original roof liner can't be modded, so I've used the black plastic front part from a saloon.Grrrmachine wrote:I've already got the overhead check, it's a proper-engined touring![]()

It fits OK, but the front part of the original touring liner and some foam has to be cut away to make it sit right. Looks like it belongs there when it's done.

The touring and saloon A Pillar windscreen trims are different too - touring ones are "flat", saloon ones are angled at the top - these may also need changing if you fit the saloon sunvisor panel.
EDIT just seen Malc's pics - the looks like the spare A pillar trim I bought came from a non-sunroof saloon

I do not remember swapping the A pillar trim,it needs to come out to fit the panel,though.Panel/visors/power roof were re-cycled from my late lamented 4 door! Took several attempts to get the bloody roof working right,I do remember that struggle!capri_rob wrote:The touring and saloon A Pillar windscreen trims are different too - touring ones are "flat", saloon ones are angled at the top - these may also need changing if you fit the saloon sunvisor panel.
