Can anyone tell me where the cruise control ecu is supposed to be fastened.

Bentley says " The control unit is located beneath the dashboard, above the glovebox, directly above the fuel injection control unit"

Is that information for a left or right hand drive car though ?

being Bentley manual, i would guess LHD.

Doesn't it live on top of the Engine ECU? either that or its the one that lives above the glove box lock. Long time since I've had E30 cruise.

It goes in the most stoopid place ever. Right above the glovebox latch tucked away. And it's a fooker to get in there!!!!
if you need to take the dash out in the near future THEN is the time to do it!
When Si and i fitted mine, it was like the Krypton Factor to get it in there.
