hey, ive blown my 2liter diff which i was using with me m50 engine and box swap.....bang! aha enyways, im in need of a diff asap and i cant realy afford a slippy one at the momment so whats the best other diff to use? my old 2literone made it unbearable to drive on motorways with stupidly high revvs for the speed it was doing! thanks

Anything off a 325i will do, as it'll be a 3.91 or longer ratio and it'll be medium case so will put up with more punishment. The 320i diff is a small case 4.10 if I remember correctly, hence your problems.
Should be able to pick one up for 50 notes or less.

lovely mate! glad youve said that price! booked ibiza for july and i thort my savings were fading rapidly away aha. what about the 3.64 ratio? bit too long?

Are you using an E30 gearbox?
If you can get a 3.64 that is the best real world diff to keep the vehicle still lively but half decent on fuel. It will feel a bit sluggish after the original diff though.

In which case you're ideally looking for 2.93 - 3.25 which can be had from an e28 but need to have an e30 back plate fitted. Sorry made the assumption you had an e30 gearbox.
