just wondering how you adjust the idle on a 316i??

or is there some sort of choke on this car??

as it seems to idle at around 1400 rpm for the first few mins
then only drops to around 1200 when warmed up

any ideas??
been so many years since i had to work on a 316 cant remember a thing
thanks all

A choke is only fitted on carb engines.

What injection system does it have ?

Surely its the ICV valve that either isn't plugged in or not working.

Have a look, by the windscreen under the inlet manifold.

Should you be able to move any of the bits inside of the ICV with a screw driver?

The auto choke isnt really adjustable iirc,

possibly the cold start injectior, or AFM needs a good clean?

also try the Idle Control Valve (its stored in the plastic under the windscreen wipers on an m40)

failing that, i'm out of ideas, sorry

Where is the cold start injector? only thought that was on L-jetronic..(m10s)

And I pretty sure the ICV is just under the inlet manifold, not under the plastic windscreen wiper housing. As I only took mine out last weekend, and i'm pretty sure that it was an ICV...
