www.e30.de site says it is not really possible on RHD cars because of the brake rod that goes across the firewall. Has anyone attempted it?

the definition of p3 is a bit vague, as is the e30.de site generally, it's a great resource but there's plenty of mis-information on there.
but the direct answer is, if you use p3 on their own mounts, there is no problem with RHD as long as you're using the later E34/E32 engine. Andy335touring has this setup and needed some tranny tunnel bashing but that was about it.

Ok thanks, I am new to this M30 conversion. We want to put the engine as far back as possible. www.e30.de sells mounts for what they call position III or the same position that Hartge used for their H35 which apparently gave close to the front/rear weight distribution of a 325i. Any advice?

mine is in on about p2.5 on home made mounts.
as i said, e30.de mounts installed on the p3 position works with RHD and will give a nice handling car comparable to an m20. i've driven andy's tourer and my 2dr and they both drive well.
