Heya everyone,

First of all i only put my 318is on the road for 6 months a year then its garaged for the winter.
I have a problem with the central locking keeps popping back up after the button has been pressed on the key fob to lock it,any ideas what could be causing the problem as the doors have been flushed :)

I also have a problem when it starts it fails to keep running as soon as i leave the key :s ??? im thinking idle control valve ??

Thanks Ty

First problem is quite a common one have a search for brain moores red & black mod.

Second problem I would suggest a really good service, M42 engines respond really well to a good service

Where is the thermal fuse located and i take it the locking motors will be located behind each door between the skins?

If the locks unlock immediately after being locked then the ECU thinks that the driver's door isn't shut, usually because of misadjustment of the locking motor or wear in the linkage.
If the car has been stored with the battery disconnected or allowed to go flat, then the engine ECU may have lost its idle settings, and will need to relearn them by being driven.

When i first bought the car the drivers door had to be changed plus the lock flushed aswell so ill be looking at to if evrything is ok with the drivers door first.

If i cannot find any fault within both doors would if be a good idea to go for the Red and black wire MOD?

Thanks for the info guys :)

Red/black wire mod. is recommended for every and all E30s, whether they have locking problems or not.
I doubt if it'll have any bearing on this particular problem though.

Unless you have a heated door lock.

A working heated door lock, that is. A very rare beast.

Certainly won't be working after the red/black mod.
