Refubed the rear end, but didn't replace the entire front to rear brake line; I put in a join near the fuel filter.

Now it's come to bleeding, and I've got fluid pissing out of the join, so I obviously did something wrong.

I used a male nut on one side, a female nut on the other (both M10x1.0) with double flares on both the old steel and new cunifer pipe. Is that correct, or should I have used different unions or different flares?

This is the way I usually do it, but one of the pipes
needs a double flare.

I usually put single flare on steel pipe side and double on new pipe (copper or cunifer)
Works every time

Is single flare where you don't use the flaring die, just the nose of the flaring tool?

Single flare looks like the end of a trumpet....

just use the pointy end of the flaring tool, no die.

Single flare is operation 1. Double is operation 1 then operation 2.

In other words....... single flare is convex........double flare is concave. HTH
