We have a chance to get a limited batch of the WMS T10 2-pot caliper made in the right piston size to work on the rear of the E30 without using a bias box. We don't normally get this caliper made in this spec due to it's lowish demand compared to the 4-pot front ones.

This retains the handbrake, uses a 290mm vented disc, fits in the 15" BBS and the prototype has been used good effect on Theo's SR20DET track car.

Here are the 2014 prices - NOTE THAT THE NEW BRACKETS WILL BE CNC MACHINED, SO NOT EXACTLY LIKE THE PHOTOS:

RB001 rear 290mm E30 kit (discs, brackets, calipers, bolts: £455.61+vat RRP) = £432.83+vat with Zone member 5% discount
Brake lines = £35.39+vat
Pads = £varies according to make and compound

These kits will be made to order and I'll need a 25% deposit (for front kits too, if buying with a rear kit) from anyone who wants one so please let me know ASAP if that's you! :D

Front prices are all on the WMS thread: http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=209737

They are 2x 1.38" which is:

12.9% more than saloon rear calipers
0.3% more than touring rear calipers

No new takers? :(

I think a very limited batch will still happen and I might get one extra set to put on the shelf - see how it goes. If people are interested but it's bad timing/short notice please drop me a PM as I can probably sort something.

I think it's just that time of year to be honest!

I'm gonna be tempted to replace the whole lot on my car but that won't be until next year I'm afraid.

Reply sent earlier, oops!

I've been double checking pads for this caliper (all the mrfs list it, but they carry lower stock levels):

- EBC Green = £### (one set on the shelf - but Red and Yellow need a batch of 20-odd sets bought to justify a batch being made)

- Ferodo DS3000 = £### (they don't do them in DS2500)

- Hawk DR97 (38-482°C) = £### (on the shelf)

As a few people have asked I'm going to apply the zone 5% to everything if front and rear kits are bought as a bundle - so that includes pads/spacers/lines etc instead of just the kits.

Including the shipping discount that's a total saving of about £70-75 for most people.... :D

The first batch hasn't arrived yet (annoyingly), but there's a chance that there might be one free pair when they do show up....

Also there could well be another batch in the future.

I'll drop you a PM! :D

PLEASE NOTE:

The price of this kit has to go up I'm afraid. I'm working on ways to limit this but the price is looking to change to between £460+vat and £512+vat. I'll confirm the new price next week when I know exactly what the CNC brackets will cost.

For Dave, Antonio and Tony who have been waiting and have placed deposits the price is frozen at what I quoted so don't worry!

I'm still waiting for an up to date cost on a couple of bits so the new RRP will have to wait 'til Monday or later.

The CNC guys have got the bracket drawings, so that's progressing ok!

The outboard/"threaded" option has taken the record for the most fiddly bracket design to date!!! I hope it won't be a shocker in price terms, if it is then it'll probably be a CNC version of the inboard one like the prototype in the photos. Both have been 3D modeled, drawn and are with the CNC lot to see which makes more sense to make.

Oh, also I've made some progress on matching F+R pads, I can do some Wilwood ones and EBC are now saying I can do their ones on the rear as well - but as they are "specials" there's a 3-week lead time on them.

Anyone who wants to change over can as there's time to sort it out as pads are the last thing we buy in - but any EBC compound other than green (at the rear) needs that 3-weeks! So we had better get onto it straight away if you fancy Red/Yellow - we've never had "specials" from EBC before so it should be interesting.

(...as interesting as a brake pad can get I mean! Image )

I missed a delivery this morning - as far as I know that was the brackets being delivered...

So just a heads-up, dummy fitting is next as long as the courier is back tomorrow, then assuming all's good I'll send out (£) balance requests, then get the line/pads etc in (same as any normal order where I have the calipers/bracket/discs on the shelf), and we'll be there at last!
