Conversion question...

Im really thinking of going down the m52 e30 route but need a few questions answering first. I have a healthy m52 as my daily.

Reading the sticky on m52 swaps im near enough there parts wise right? all i need is an e30?

Do i just need to buy an e30 now and use the flywheel and starter from it and put it together with the m52 gearbox and engine.

Exhaust! whats the deal with manifold being the most cost? can i not use the current on the e30 i get or the one on my e36

I dont mind which option from the sticky i go for, the easiest one tbh. I will not be doing the work.

Im not looking at building the best m52 e30 just something to use a daily, funds are limited due to baby coming in april but i got a hidden stash .

Any help (dummies guide) appreciated. Thanks

Exhaust manifolds, wiring, steering rack swaps and anything else 24v e30 related can all be sorted by Danthe.

Yeah I know of Danthe sorting those stuff out. Is it just a matter of finding a 2.5 or 2.0 e30 then?

Where does the £2-3k cost come from then?? Iv heard that's how much it costs.

get a 325i or at least a 318is so you have the better suspension set up and disc all round.
as for the 2k/3k it would be when you are sourcing a engine set up ,dans manifold,sump set , servo set up ,mounts ,right diff ,electric fan set and other bits and also what you need to change on the engine while its out

it can mount up if you want to do it the right way

Someone is selling a m52 in a 318is shell, it's on eBay and it needs a vic check due to an accident, apparently it belonged to zoner Turk. I'm looking for a part done/un-finished m52 e30 or an e30 base to start fresh with, the latter being 2nd choice.

This is what he Messaged me

''The two front wish bones snapped and pushed back in to the footwells iv smashed it back and
welded it up suitable for an Mot,
the only other bit of rust is by the rear boot well but shouldn't come into Mot it was a clean car before that''.
