I'd rate the 333i and South African 325iS as worthy of a mention too.

Oh, and let's not forget the Baur convertibles!

it's a bit like saying Cheryl Cole is fat, no one believes it, no one means it, & they know they don't stand a chance. Shame they're such heavy boat anchors.johnl320 wrote:I dunno why people slate the m30, I love driving mine and most passengers are surprised by the way it gets going.

I've been in an M30 3.5 touring that Andy on here used to own. That was doing 260bhp with the torque to go. An M30 engined e30 is a serious weapon, even one with a good stock engine shifts. They'll give a proper 2.7 a match on the road. - That hurts to say that for me!

I've had the car now for near on 3 years, I was that div that had it up for sale about a year ago. Finances weren't so good and it was having running problems. I got some silly offers and ridiculous questions through ebay (normal I suppose) so decided to keep it. I changed the fuel pump and relay with no joy, it turned out it was the coil pack that was failing intermittently. Andy used a 24v scorpio pack, I changed that and its now running better than when I first got itSimon13 wrote:good it did end up forsale with some div at one point. I take it you rescued it?!
So where would this stand in the hierarchy ? . . .

Ah, no, that was the div I bought it off, LOL,Simon13 wrote:do you have a few porkas then? i just remember seeing it forsale on a driveway next to a 911 of some sort
He had little network going that was buying 911's from the States then selling them into Europe, seemed like a family business that was doing quite well. If you remember the porkas in the pic didn't have any rear bumpers, they had taken them off along with some other bits to change them to EU spec to sell on.
He said he bought it to go drifting in, not sure it had enough power for him
(I'm no drift monkey but a mate can drift it really well, not that I let him very often)
It had a real $hitty and worn cloth interior when I got it (I think Andy sold it stripped out but not sure) that I binned straight away and replaced with the full leather I took out of my old touring that had died of tin rot. I think the coil pack had started to give up back then when I first got it. After bit of a service I got it running better but not like now, it now ticks over much smoother, picks up much cleaner and even sounds sharper
I had it remapped to run on unleaded from EN 85 as there's not much of that for sale round here so its lost a little power, its now only making 250 bhp but at least I can fill up where ever I want !
