My S50 Turd would pace M5's, 996's, Scobaroos etc.. That is at least pretty fast.

Yeh he is a little clueless as i could hear him red lining it, i pulled over n told him he is loosing power that way but he didnt listen... Ah well, makes great banter between the lads as he spent 35k on his car new lol and everyone always says well the 22 year old pissed on u!Jhonno wrote:330d would pee pee on a 2.7 Turd.Ajsingh wrote:Also my best mate owns a e93 330d and around and inbetween roundabouts in Milton keynes he said he was struggling to keep up...
240+bhp, 500NM torques.
Clearly he has not clue on how to drive the Turd. Roundabout sprints play right into his torques hands as well.

I came inches away from crashing into the back of a 996 911 with both my front wheels locked at the nurburgring, he invented a new braking point for a 'flat' corner!
I lover racing modern diesels, just leave it in third and watch them change gear twice then give it full beans and pull in front of them. . .cheap thrills.
I was racing a DC2 integra up a steep hill out of a thirty into a sixty, I was in third, I found out he was in second after the gap closed two car lengths as he changed up at 65mph, I then followed him up the hill at half throttle!!!!
Gareth owned me in his M30 up a very steep hill on the zone roam!!!!!

a lot of it boils down to the condition of the engine i think. my old 2.0 got ownd by my mates 2.0.. both were a moredoor/alloys/lowerd etc. pulling same weight.. his just had a much fresher lump and it rely did pass me. i was convinced he had a 2.5i lump in there but we checked it out to make sure previous owner didnt change it etc. sure enough it was def a 2.0
later i dropped the 2.7 in there and ofc he ate my dust
later i dropped the 2.7 in there and ofc he ate my dust

Mini Cooper S Works
Peugeot 308 GTi
VW Golf III VR6 2.8
Grande Punto Abarth
Opel Corsa OPC
All do 15.3 second 1/4 mile.
So does my 325i Sport.
I have disciplined all sorts in the past including a civic type R, many a VR6, various 16v clio 2's.

just dont never race the modern tdi crew long distance, youl run out of fuel
was cruising along motorway once in a 318is at about 60mph one late night, a touring shot past about 80/90 odd , i thought f**k me thats an e30...so the is picked up to try catch and go alongside but he just kept going, is got to 130/135 before it got to a slow down area , and the touring was still ahead , not sure what engine it had but he was having some and off he flew, was quality tho

My R-tech mapped 1.8t golf Mk4 is quicker than my 325i - the golf kept up with a civic type r which kinda impressed me (£200 for the map on an AUM gives 200-210 brake with 220-230 ilbs
).
The 325i is ok but not seriously quick. I understand a well set-up 2.7 e30 could give 200-220 bhp - in the light chassis i think that would give modern hot hatches a good run for their money surely?
Love the U-tube v8's and Turbo'd footage of the E30 - that would be seriously cool (one day money permitting eh!)

m27, have no idea of the touring but it had a white sticker lower left rear, some sort of race logo, pulled off towards cosham where adit lives , theres racing and then theres driving like a fooking loonatic

lols polsta - agree a basic tdi will beat you on average home from work motorway trip as you will be watching fule gauge!
There is a red E30 E46 M3 conversion that was in the BMW mags a couple of months back - it was a friend of the person i bought my car off (E30 nuts) and i went out in it - felt quick and he was not going mad in the slightest !
What does stick with me is he said he went out looking for Porche of a night and showed them up everytime!

Best race I've ever had was my xsara vts against an 05 type r. He wasn't standard either, he had rock hard coilies, some loud ass pea shooter and by the sound of it a fancy induction set up. We were side by side off about 5 sets of lights, then we hit the dual carriageways. We were perfectly matched up to about 130 then the civic started running out of puff. I ended up behind him easing on/off as he was in my way with the xsara indicating 145mph. Both guys in the civic saw the funny side and we both gave a little flash and went our separate ways. Was an exhilarating 15 minutes! Very irresponsible behaviour however and I don't drive like that anymore! Don't do it kids!

I've barely had any duels in the chromie on the street, never get any challenges.
Only one I've had was a Civic Type R and it just got utterly destroyed.
When I had the M52 in the touring I had a quick squirt against a lad from around the corner who had a 205 MI16 turd and I was just chasing him down without any fuss.
The touring did alright on the only time I had it down the 1/4 mile at York as I dusted my mate's 928 GTS4 3 times in a row.
Best 1/4 mile so far is 13.9 @99mph with the Chromie.

Ahhh.. That explains ALOT. The other issue with the S50 is that is has linear power delivery, so feels slower than it is. No big turbo kick.backspring wrote:your turd can pace a e60 m5? thats pretty quik then. i havnt tested mine yet, took it to 120 (private road) didnt think it was that quik but im coming from r32 gtr skyline 750hbp, now that thing was fast, scary actuallyJhonno wrote:What exactly would you class as 'fast'?!backspring wrote:stock e30s aren't very fast, even 2.7 or s14, thats why i put a s50 in mine.. and its still not 'fast'
