im on the zone everyday without fail just to keep my hand in and see whats
been going on in the world.
I dont always contribute as much as i should due to lack of knowledge but i will if i can. The zone is excellent but i see your point about same names all the time

i started browsing on and off in june 2003 and it was very quiet then! Didn't join or post until March/April 2004 i think. The whole forum concept confused me somewhat then. As my IT skills were even worse and i had other hobbies keeping me away!
Signed up to the old zone march/april time last year just before i bought my iS, never used to post much on there though just read all the info

I seem to have been at it a long time, mind you, I've been at everything for a long time! I look at the site at least once a day, usually more but I only post if I have some concrete experience or knowledge (so I don't post that often!!). I also find as the zone gets new members the same old topics come round again but I still read them, again. No complaints though but it's good to see the old names come up.

How about if some one doesn't make a post in six months they lose there membership so we could get a more realistic membership number ?
Out of that 8k theres probobly only around 10% who are regular posters, may be up to 20% view but don't post ???

I agree some people say what they feel, I suppose it's honest, and it does make some entertaining reading some times! I think the zone is a nice place to be, should have been around when the zone was in it's early stages, we had some proper nutters here then, there was a seperate forum just for the arguments!! Anyone remember nothezone?? lmfao!REEDY wrote:LOL, not that!!!Simon wrote:Such as?

Too true. I'm sick of posts with nothing to say and those who feel they have to reply to every comment on their thread. What's the big attraction of a high post count if you've annoyed everyone with your pointless shit getting there?Conan wrote:im on most days and post if ive something relevent.
I'm here every day, post when I've got something to say and I'm still under 500.
But I'm not bitter

try to get on a couple of time a week, was on the old zone but never carried my post count accross, but just broke 500 again!!!
i dont think you can get bored of the same topics as i think i learn something new each week whether it is of any use to me or not, who knows in the future.
do try to add something positive to any topic i find interesting and happy to say only had one zoner reply to a post of mine negatively( no names )
Even written a tech article too!! planning on a second when i swap auto to manual as it seems to pop up a lot. The only annoying thing i find about the zone is i find many newcomers with a handfull of posts will simply ask questions without checking the tech articles first, most points basically covered there!

I still swing by most days but do not post so much since I sold the Sport...
I was around number 74 to join the original zone so have too been around for a fair while
Still hoping to get another one some day so will try and keep tabs on whats going on and still pop along to the odd meet
Made some friends around here who I would like to keep in touch with too.
Notthezone was funny as fook Si - the place where you could throw your toys out of the pram... some really funny posts in there

I,m logged on most days. I usually just read the posts trying to pick up snips of info here and there. Sometimes I get bogged down on threads like this and feel compelled to post a reply.

I'm still here although not as regular as i'd like. I seem to post only when i've got motoring issues or non e30 related posts, which is why i love the ZONE so much, ppl are always willing to go out their way to help as best they can.
Ive been here snce day 1 ish, from the old style Zone and its just as useful now as its always been, the more members= more knowledge.
I remember way back(i'm sure other zoners will vouch for me) when i first joined and was tooooo scared to go to any of the meets, well i'd turn up/sit in mycar and then just drive off. I'd spend all morning cleaning my car as well.
But now i cant wait for the spring/summer now to start going to meets again although next year might be a buit tough as my new job i'm working 4 on 4 off (days rolling shifts).
But like i said , back on topic " STILL HERE "

Haha, I remember Lee, the mids meet wasn't it? You even turned up at the pub, saw all the cars, bottled it and drove off!!naylor04 wrote: I remember way back(i'm sure other zoners will vouch for me) when i first joined and was tooooo scared to go to any of the meets, well i'd turn up/sit in mycar and then just drive off. Wasn't the first meet you came too the rolling road day that Chris arranged? Was a good day that one, great turn out!
