I've noticed that my rev limiter is cutting-in below 6k rpm. Never used to, was nearer 7k. Have I got a problem?? Could it be anything to do with the 325i TB pulling more air through the AFM at WOT?
Other than the rev limit, the car's going well but it doesn't cold start as well as it used to either.
Am I talking bo**ox here, 'cos I know nothing about electronic mamagement systems - give me a proper distributor any day!!
TIA
Stuart.

Worn cam? Do these engines when worn cams have the same effect as the M40 with worn cam? Not to sure Stu tbh, but it's a bump back to the top for you!

Maybe you have a limiter on the rotor arm,
you will know if you look at it. if yes then head straight for the bin!

Anyone know how long the ECU has to be disconnected before it looses its memory?
I'm thinking that if I disconnect the battery it may default back to the original settings.
Can't do any harm to try it, as no-one has come-up with a definitive answer.
BTW, I've tried it again this morning and the limiter's cutting the engine at 5750rpm.

duff dizzy cap and rotor would cause this, the poor cold start would indicate this also, cracked capp possibly
