i think they are just slow mate. I bought a 325i sport and I couldn't believe how slow it was for a while. You get used to the character of these cars mate, mine seems to pull harder in 3rd and fourth than the first couple of gears....(random)

welcome to m20b20villeDrowningman wrote:Ive just bought a 320i touring it looks beautiful 155k but its so sluggish , i know the exhaust needs replacing soon but anyone got any ideas.....
If your touring seems sluggish-give it a good service to "perk!" it up..
I'd change
Oil
oil filter
Air filter
Coolant
Set tappets
New sparkplugs
and i'd check for any leaks in the air intake system that may make it run lean...
Mods that are possible for not too many bucks are
325i Throttle body/manifold
zone wild chip off of ant..
TBH my 2.0 is plenty sprightly for everyday bumming around

I would say a good service too, and change the exhaust as well. 320s are not THAT slow. If in top nick the kick arse too. Mine does and hasn't been modded (yet)

I had a 320i before my current car and I swear it felt faster. Seemed to have more manic acceleration. The engine in it had done les than 70k though for what it's worth.

You need to bear in mind that the touring is a bit heavier than the saloon too. I have a 325i touring and at first i thought it was slower than my old Citroen ZX 1.9TD (which is not that fast anyway) but it is just that there is plenty of power waiting further up the rev counter. If you keep the needle past 3, 4 then 5k these things can really go. However, you can also cruise along not going much over 3000 revs and just relying on the torque.
