Hmmm, I'm quite taken with that.
Do you know what diff it is running? Also, what exhaust system is on it?

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?

There should be a tag on the rear cover plate of the diff, on the top right hand side, they are usually pretty rusty and need a clean off to read the numbers stamped in.
What sort of revs does it pull at say 80mph on the motorway.
Are you looking to spend any more on top of the price you are selling the compact for?

These run a 3.38.
I have one in mine, and 80 mph is 3500 rpm. Considering our discussion yesterday, this looks worth buying.

Honestly don't know ( i know that sounds daft) as the car owes me a fair chunk, but is let down by frilly bodywork. So probably more than you'd be willing to pay.shanehaward wrote:how much you looking for mate?

just for everyones info the car was bought from my ex girlfriend,so i know the car very well and at no time have i slagged the car off, in fact i would go as far as to say shane has been very accurate with his discription, it is very rapid and drives spot on.Nobby_N wrote:+1 do you want his car bigdoe or is it not giro day till Tuesdayshanehaward wrote:bigdoe thanks for your advise. tit
my problem is someone turning up to view an already cheap car then saying this & that is wrong with it, the seller not knowing anything thinks your doing her a favour giving her a grand for it then 2 weeks later it's worth £2300.

Sounds like you wanted it off your ex, he might have paid a grand plus some in kindbigdoe wrote:just for everyones info the car was bought from my ex girlfriend,so i know the car very well and at no time have i slagged the car off, in fact i would go as far as to say shane has been very accurate with his discription, it is very rapid and drives spot on.Nobby_N wrote:+1 do you want his car bigdoe or is it not giro day till Tuesdayshanehaward wrote:bigdoe thanks for your advise. tit

Nice compact but if its standard apart from the engine conversion then this is way over priced.
As an example there was recently a 328i sport on the e36 forum with a dyno proven 263bhp, rebuilt 40% locking lsd, 330i brakes, koni sports dampers etc etc for £2500.

also it stops just as well as my old 328i sport, handles better than my old 328i sport, its faster than my old 328i sport. what can you buy which is this clean, reliable, does over 30mpg and needs nothing doing to it and this fast for £2000?? (no jap crap though lol)
