just got back to the car after a weekend away with the missus. went to start it. turned the key and nothing. the gauges and lights briefly flicker.
managed to bump it using the missus car
drove it all the way home it was totally as normal
got it home and gave it a test start and exactly the same happened.
tried the sidelights, they worked. tried to start it again, exactly the same happened, gauges and lights briefly flicker, not a hint from the starter. the sidelights now dont work at all as if it has literally no power
whats going on? im at my wits end!
turn the key annnnnddd nothing!

the connections seem all good to the battery.Brianmoooore wrote:Battery's dead, or the smaller connections to the battery terminal?
how could the battery have flattened on its own? the car runs without a hitch (electrically speaking) normally. the battery was a brand new bosch item 3 months ago
the only thing i can think of is its shorting somewhere? but surely if it was shorting it would have done it properly and melted lots of wires smoke and fire etc?
cheers,
matt

okay! false alarm
it turned out the negative terminal of the battery had worked a bit loose and some dirt had got inbetween the terminal and the connection.
few seconds and we are back online
cheers brian
