No matter how much tinsel you put on a 170, its still worthless in comparison.

Considering that my input has been trying to put a positive view into a car that is being slated purely on easily sorted cosmetic issues, wheels and interior!

Great attitude for a team member :)

I hardly think you need to be a 'forum' expert on a m3 to change the interior, wheels and get the seller down on price.

What I have been trying to say is it doesn't matter the fact that it is a m3, it would take simple skills to buy any type of car in this state, get the purchase price down and remove the parts that devalue the car, in this case two elements.

You are still failing too miss the point of value, to get that car to its true value you would need to take 3k (min) off the asking price, just for a laugh im going to call the seller tomorrow and offer him 12k, lets see what happens. According to your logic, it should be rather simple. (even if I would be paying above going rates for the age and spec of the car).

After the price has been negotiated, you should buy it, return it to stock and sell it on for a profit, show all of us forum experts how its done, dead easy :D

Calling on the phone without seeing the car, nothing to justify why you are offering that little, wait you reason is because the car looks shit that will go down well, and sounding like a dreamer sounds like a plan

Once again great attitude for a 'team member'

The reason ill use is that a whole bunch of forum experts told me its not worth the asking price, no need to go see it. Your logic states that all i have to do is concentrate on two minor, easily sorted and cheap bad points because "but the value in the end will compensate that"

no doubt the owner of this festering turd Loves it to bits.... and his personal choice of modification isn't everyone's taste.. definatly not mine,
at 15k in todays market it's way overpriced and will be for sale for a long time IMO,

Phill172 you mention it wouldn't take much to make it back into a decent car, IE more OEM back to standard ?

try find a decent M3 interior and 16" BBS wheels this will drive you crazy and if you get lucky, will leave a hefty dent in your wallet, and thats just the begining...

the car in question certainly makes this look a bargain,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1990-BMW-E30- ... 2a19c63d03

Providing they are both rot/damage free, which I very much doubt :(

Re read that, a guy on the internet told me its not worth that much that's why I'm offering that much.
Sounds great

I also haven't said I would pay the asking price so I'm unsure why that is being thrown up?

Well whats more simpler than telling him someone on the internet told me its not worth the asking price.......I don't even have to leave my house, thats what you meant by simple skillz?

The black one topless posted looks lovely and should sell ever so quick at that price.

The red one is £10k on a good day for all the reasons stated.

That car was at Gaydon BMW Festival last year. It made me a little nauseous to be honest....

A straight good condition M3 is worth way more than 8k these days. I've seen dogs sell for 12k on Pistonplebs! Everything on that car (for which we can see) is reversible and at least he's looked after the bodywork. It's more than likely garaged too.

When I went to look for an e30 M3 i went to look at a part finished project in zinno red. Amazing seeing it. All new trim, dash, panels glass, seats, suspension, brakes etc and freshly painted. However the rear quarters has been butchered and cut on the inside lips to accomodate big wheels. Not irreversible but certainly a massive amount of work to rectify....

Anyway, my tedious point is that all the tat might be hiding a really good shell and an honest and reliable engine - especially with 3 owners. It might be a case of buying an ugly duckling rather than polishing a turd ;-)

Flame me!
