205 55 15 are pretty much what most run on any e30 and they clear no problem the later lux models came with 15" as standard but the others had anything from steel to the 15" bbs and some other rare horrible items lol

Both aesthetically and driving wise, fitting BMW original 15" BBS alloys and 205/55/15 Toyo Proxes T1-Rs was best thing I ever did for my ”aPoverty Spec”a 325 Touring.
That, and rear heads restraints make it look classy, even when parked.
Unless your original wheels and tyres are an odd size, and assuming you are fitting BMW wheels with the correct tyres, wheel geometry and rolling radiuses should be the same and the only difference you should notice in driving is that it feels more "Planted" when cornering.
MPG might suffer very slightly - a small price to pay given the pride you will have in your car.
Of course, if the wheels you are fitting are non-BMW, or aftermarket wheels - who knows?
