Fault codes..Stuck in "limp mode"NOT ANY MORE!! :)

I had this problem right from the start Ant mate,
it's not like i was driving the car and it went into limp mode, it was a cunt from the beginning,

I done the loom my self and when i was doing it i didnt have pin 14 on....erm the E36 side so left it blank/not connected mate
and if i remember correctly I hooked it up to the ABS signal on the E36 side,
(But just because it worked for me, doesn't mean it'll work for everyone )


so if yours has been wired up correctly, and you have been driving round for a while,
I think you should be looking for something other than the speed signal input being at fault.

But saying that......

If the fault code for the speed signal is coming up then there might be a problem somewhere along the wire....?

2 ews failures Craig, then Dan did ews delete and map but rev limit 6500 so he did another for me with 7k but this comes up with speed signal fault?..... Wierd.

Like you say, I've driven around for months and speed signal has never been a problem. I just plugged my old ecu in and it revved fine (6500), drove to mates garage 2 miles, all fine. Plugged it into ethos and lambda x2 showed up as fooked. (No mention of speed signal.!), deleted codes and lambda's came back, so obv knackered. Drove away and boom, back into limp.

Spoke to Dan on the phone just now and we've come to conclusion that both lambda's are so knackered its throwing the car into limp. Just my luck lol
Lucky though I have 2 spare that I raped from a 728 in a breakers yard a few weeks ago
They don't look coked up but obv I don't know if they work.. Yet. But can't be any worse than what I've in there now.
Will change em over tomoro and throw her back on the ethos. Hopefully the lambda codes will disappear and mach 3 will be resumed

Dan has had gimp mode because of a duf lambda before so... We will see

Just because the ECU is giving speed signal as a fault doesnt mean its not getting the signal. I had an ECU that would relay the vehicle speed through to the live data on my laptop while driving, so the signal was obviously there, but it would drop into limp when driving and keep coming back with speed signal fault. According to Autodata books this can be a sign of a faulty ECU, I tried the ECU on several cars and it did exactly the same. So in the bin it went.
It looks like this could be the issue with Ants ECU, as it was an unknown ECU picked up off ebay or a breakers shelf.

Don't you have an ECU fitted with a super chip for the M52B28 Dan? Ant might be able purchase and?

That you be my preferred route if his ECU needs replacing?
