They're quite odd cars IMO, I'm quite liking them though.

I'll sell you an M62 4.4 for cheapness - V8 hatchback FTW!
I think it was just a previous owner was a bit mad haha, you don't tend to see many that have been messed with.

Haha yeah they are a bit of a odd car but i think thats what makes it stand out.

I've looked into the V8 route but its the cost of a gearbox and then i can't really afford to run another V8 :(
adit wrote:good interesting thread.
do you have any pictures on the finished boot floor before the carpets were fitted?
what finish did you use?
I just have this one of it after seem sealer and a couple coats of stone chip. I've sprayed over this with silver to match the rest of the car (well it was supposed to anyway haha) i'll try and remember to get a pic of it paintef when the carpet is up again (i am sure somethin will need putting in that i've missed)

Haha yeah was a tad fiddley to do (would of been alot easier if i'd done it whilst the engine and box was out)

Bit of a update managed to get the gear linkages, prop, exhaust fitted, just need to fit the lambda's, rad and oil cooler then it'll be time to get it running :) hopefully this cold weather will go and make it better for working outside

Haha yeah it seemed to get well known on the coupe forum when it was sprayed white, also seems to of been passed around a bit whilst its been in bits. Yeah i bought it off ebay in november.

Thanks, was a shame to see it looking like it was when we picked it up, hopefully it'll look bit better once its finished :)

They are one of them cars that if you like them you have to get one eventually haha. The s50 compact will be almost the same running gear won't it? Just with a different body and with 4 seats

They are cool looking things. I have always liked them to, although the press always said they were wank to drive, which goes without saying due to the crappy chassis.

Haha its one of those things that takes a bit to get used to i think. Its had a few bits done to the suspension but the handling is spot on, my mate had a play in it and was surprised how it goes (he has a E36 M3 evo).

Well it seemed like summer was here so decided to give the coupe a wash and get the E30 out :)
