Got a quote from the stealer's earlier, before discount:

£120.09 EACH!

And I thought the standard top mounts were expensive!

My questions are these:

1) Can they possibly be SO good as to be worth THAT much more money?

2) Anyone do any cheaper alternatives?

3) RPM do some camber/castor adjustable mounts for the same sort of price! Is it worth going that route, even though I'm just going to get it 4 wheel aligned and forget about them?

I think I'm probably going to go for the standard top mounts unless anyone strongly disagrees, I can't see there being that much a difference?

Facts and proof welcome as always

Its the M3 Eccentric wishbone bushes that are the very common upgrade - not the top mounts.

These are about £40 from the dealers.

Lemforder standard top mounts from ECP are about £20 a side.

You'll need to get the E36 dust covers for them from the dealers though as the standard E30 covers are too small.

New M3 eccentric bushes will sharpen up the steering and turn in just enough for normal road use - if you were going to "set it and forget it" just fit these with standard new mounts.

Rob, the Wiki does mention M3 eccentric top mounts (don't blame me, I didn't write that bit), as well as eccentric lollipop bushes, so there must have been some discussion on this in the past.

I can't see any for sale on ECP :( In fact I can't find anywhere selling the part number for the Lemforder top mount in their catalogue :(

Dust covers for what sorry? The top mounts?

drop a PM to Meatballs82 - I believe he's the Zone's gateway into ECP and there's a zone discount.

As above contact Matt for up to date prices - I got mine from there last Year.

The dustcovers are the plastic caps that cover the big nut in the centre of the top mount. They're only pennies from the dealer.

If I discovered that a front strut was out of spec. camber wise, I'd be doing some calculations, and drilling the mounting points of the top mount to suit.
Around 10mm gives 1 degree of change.

I got an email back from Matt at ECP (Great help as usual):

Lemforder standard top mounts - £20.

Save £200 on the camber correction mounts and £27 on the BMW part? Erm, yes please!
