just bought 328i converted compact and it drives perfect but when engine is warm it has a noisy rattling sound. ive hurd that this could be the vanos..
is it hard to do? how much would it cost in parts and what parts do i need? an how much roughly for a garage to fix??

i have resealed a few 330 e46 vanos' and found that the kit from the U.S.A costing about £100 is a better quality than ones from our local dealers. As for it being easy or not, it is BUT only if you know how. There is a reverse thread bolt in the centre of the unit so be carefull
