Whats the easiest way of removing an Engine box from a 325 touring. Up and out of the engine bay or drop the subframe and lift the car?

I would personally lift it out the top rather than drop it out from underneath. It's not a hard thing to remove from the top, so not really worth the extra work to drop it out.bigpimpin wrote:Whats the easiest way of removing an Engine box from a 325 touring. I haven't taken one out the top, but I have recently dropped two from underneath as I didn't have a crane, all I used was 2 trolly jacks and lowered the engine & box onto a home made wooden bogie with industrial casters, then raised the car to give enough clearance to wheel engine out. It was a piece of P**H

It was a bit tight, but I was able to drop the engine and 6 speed box in as one unit. Lots of angle is the trick.
