I remember a mate who bought an E36 316 coupe new and had that option package. It looked a lot faster than it went.

Nice van!
Extended leather on E36's meant full leather door cards including the pockets, the lower half of the dash and the centre consol.
All E36's with full leather had leather inserts on the door cars but for some reason, some are plain leather and some have diagonal stitching and a padded arm rest on the insert.

Thankyou for the comments guys.
Wasn't looking for an e36 tbh but when this "un-molested" one came up reasonably local, it took my intrest, as most i see around here are "phat".

don't quote but i think you get the padding on the door cards its because a higher quality leather has been ticked? Like buffalo at a guess.
My old touring had the bog standard leather which is bearly leather and has the normal leather style cards. My B3 has merino leather and is the same. But it is an individual spec interior so who knows. I looked at a 323 touring once with a auto box fault and it had the leather padded door cards and the leather was defo buffalo quality in it. Same as my M3 drivers seat i have

Have a look under the rear seat swab, you may stiil have one of these stapled to the foam, It will list everything the car was buit with.

Probably the cleanest bay I've ever had

One of the best cars I've had. Only sold it because parking at work was becoming an issue - it was a bit too big and I was constantly worried about some careless twonk bashing it

Here's mine..
1999 328i SE touring with the sport package. Had it for 5 years now. One place where these can rust is under the tailgate seal at the bottom. Pull it off and clean it up, or replace the seal.

A short term fix is to simply leave the back of the headlight off the bit you open to change the bulbs, problem is as soon as you put the back bit back on it will start to come back again. Some people simply leave it off.csl wrote:Excellent stuff! Some nice motors there.![]()

For a permanent fix your need to take the headlight apart and reseal it.
Once it gets to spring summer it wont happen.
Another little E36 tip, if your heater blower is intermittent its your hedge hog resistor giving up the ghost a simple fix and much cheaper than a new heater motor, loads of guides on the net, just type E36 hedgehog in to Google, very common problem on E36’s

I had the headlamp fogging issue on mine - you can remove the lamp unit and the glass unclips to allow it to be cleaned.
Put some vaseline around the seal on reassembly should work - or sure I read somewhere about putting a silica gel sachet taped somewhere in the back of the lamp unit.
Getting the panel gaps right round the lamp on reassembly is a bitch though

i tried everything to stop mine fogging.
only solution which has worked all year round, was also the quickest and cheapest. leaving the back cover of the inner lamps unclipped.

I've been running mine for the last 4 years with the covers off the backs, never had the fogging problem since.

Another thing too, make sure all 4 jacking pads are present on the underside, feel under the skirt where the push out covers are, you should find a rubber pad, if missing there will be a hole. If any are missing, get them cleaned out and replaced asap.
