Hello kman82.I must say that my rims (pict 48 ) are very rare. They are genuine bbs rs 16 inch 4x100 (3 split rims). The center is 15 inch, but lip and inner barrel are 16 inch. All 3 pieces are bolted together with 30 bolts!(not 34 bolts, like other 5 stud 16 inch bbs rs). They are 8J all round at the moment, but i want to make them wider at the back by adding bigger 3 inch lip.Hope this will help.Cheers.
They're really nice mate. Do you mind me asking how much they cost you?
Thanks for the comments!Bfab wrote:Your car looks amazing. which wheels you going for? The wheels looks fine and original. Im looking for a M tech 2 kit as well. Do you think a second hand one will be god enough
You'll find mtec 2 kits for sale on here, in the for sale section or try ebay. I think you'll be very lucky to find one in a perfect condition and if you do it will be very very expensive! You have to expect a certain amount of repair work which your bodyshop should be able to do for you.
^ thanks. I got the bodyshop to do all the bumper fitting, repairs and respray. There's no way I could have got anywhere near as good a finish as they got and there was tons of welding!
Get it done mate, mine was worth every penny!

That looks brilliant, £1800 was cheap I'd of wanted more like 3k to reach that sort standard.
Have just done a lotus éclat to the same standard and for a similar price but no welding or rust on an éclat.

When a hammer is your only tool, every problem becomes a nail.
You motor look great as it is.
I wouldnt touch cheap copy rims though mate.
The motor deserves better.
The BBS look spot on imo.
Hold out for some genuine Alpina's/Hartge's. Big bucks but you'll better off.
17" wheels ruin the ride and feel of E30's imo

Cheers for the comments everyone, much appreciated!
I've actually refixed the 325i badge but left the boot spoiler off and happy with the way it looks
As for the wheels, I'm not a great fan of alpinas or hartges but have decided against the lenso / calibre wheels. The bbs I have on there look good in the photos but they're actually pretty knackered so they need changing. I would love some bbs rs 16 but don't think I can afford them so gonna keep an eye out for some 16" borbet b's, in 9j!!
If anyone knows of a set let me know

some had work help me wiv mine dude
Havn't really updated here for a while so took some pictures of the work i managed to do in the rain today.
A few weeks back I changed all of the suspension to Bilstein B4's with eibach springs. 35mm drop. I'm still really pleased with the results as the car drives like a totally new motor!
I noticed while i was changing the rear though that the fuel breather pipe cover was rusted through and needed changing...

It really was rusted through

and made a right mess getting off the car

Luckily everything behind looked ok So replacement part purchased

I also needed to fit the dust covers over the B4 dampers so had to take them back off the car and fit. I managed to get the covers from BMW at a stupidly high price - £14 per tube! and they're not even made of metal, they're rubber.

rebuilt the dampers back up, was a bit gutted when I first got these that they're all black but they work really well.

And finally all the shiney bits back on the car

Cars booked in to a mechanic friend of mine next week to have the clutch master and slave changed but more importantly having my E46 rack fitted! cant wait!

Some of you may have seen my other thread about getting My Borbet B's fitted. I got them back from Lepsoms in Swindon yesterday and I'm over the moon with them!! Obviously had to fit them straight away.

I had the wheels dipped in some kind of Acid to strip all the paint off, repainted on the backface and outer face, some work on the rims to get them all the same and then the outer face and dish diamond cut. They said they couldn't do the centre caps which i was a bit disapointed about but I'm on the hunt for some brand new ones from Germany. The old ones dont look too bad though and i dont think you can tell from the pictures.
I went for 215 x 40 Toyo T1r's in the end. At first Lepsoms wouldn't fit them as they said they are too stretched. I managed to convince them to do it but they made sure they took all reference to the fact they fitted it on the paperwork as they reckon its illegal???? They said it was a right pain in the ass to do it and took the best part of an hour! I must admit it is much more of a stretch than i was expecting...

I went for the 215's because i was worried 225's would catch on the rear arch but i think i could of got away with it. If anything the wheels look a bit lost in the arches but i'm not going to lower the car any more, think it looks quite cool like that.
some pic's on the car...

They do look really nice could do with a little drop to finish off.
They don't make bm's like this anymore!..They should.

that's what i'm thinking but the car is already dropped 35mm on the eibach pro kit and billy b4's. It's hard enough as it is and didn't want to go any lower as it scrapes the cills. what drop is yours on Tony?
happy now Keith? so what's next?
BTW: i assume you sorted the rear arch gap to the Tech2 rear bumper ok? or did i miss that bit?

yeah Rav, I tried fitting them without but they caught on the caliper so had to use 3mm spacers in the end.Rav335uk wrote:Did you use spacers up front?

Yeah we managed to sort the rear arch gap, had to make up some shaped black plastic panels that screw to the rear bumper. You can just about see them in this pic...

Love the wheels, they look perfect after the refurb! The caps don't look out of place at all on them, at least not in the pics.
Also just read your whole thread, you've done a brilliant job transforming the car to where it is now! Is the girlfriend still embarrassed to be seen in it?!

Nice job mate !!! I've got a tech 2 sport coupe which I'm restoring. And the factory tech 2 body kits do look smart, however just to finish urs off, If it were mine id stick a pair of the tech 2 rear light clusters on And maybe "offer up" a tech 2 rear spoiler and see wat it looks like as it may look good with the roof down but might be a different image with it up...
Otherwise good job !!

That won't work or fit without lots of work. His cabby is a pre-facelift car which had smaller rear lights (amongst other things), if you look at the space between the lights and the bumper you will see there's much more metal there than on a post facelift e30.
Indeed I see now, just looked at the back of mine at ur right the mk1 is smaller. Lol well scratch that idea thenJozi wrote:That won't work or fit without lots of work.
